WCG operates a community garden alongside the experimental teaching farm where community members can rent a plot and grow their own fresh produce. Gardening begins in early Spring and goes until late Fall. Water, leaf mulch, compost, deer fencing and initial tilling of the plot are provided. Tools and a wheelbarrow are available to borrow for use in the garden. Plots vary in size and plot fees are based on plot size. No gardening experience is required. Our gardeners possess a wealth of knowledge and they are happy to share it with beginning gardeners.
After a tremendous community response, our community garden is full for the 2020 growing season! If you are interested in getting your hands dirty as a farm or garden volunteer, email for volunteer opportunities at our teaching farm.
You can also email to sign up for a waiting list for the 2021 growing season.
